Additional Investigations: Identifying the Hidden Causes of Infertility

Advanced investigations at Gynatal Clinic (Timișoara) target immunological factors (KIR-HLA-C, ANA-ENA), thrombophilias, and endometrial health (ERA-EMMA-ALICE, IHC). Utilizing cutting-edge technologies, we provide personalized solutions for implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage, increasing success rates under the coordination of Lect. Univ. Dr. Delia Huțanu.

Three Directions of High-Precision Diagnostics

Guided by our Information Foraging strategy, we categorize advanced tests to help patients navigate toward the solution for their specific diagnosis:

1. Immune and hematological factors

We focus on barriers that prevent proper embryo nutrition or cause the immune system to reject the pregnancy.

  • Thrombophilia Profile: Identifying genetic mutations that increase the risk of blood clots in the placenta. Expert: Dr. Florica Ghilezan.
  • KIR-HLA-C Genotyping:  Evaluates maternal KIR receptors and fetac HLA+C combinations in selected patients with recurrent implantation failure or recurrent pregnancy loss
  • HT1/HT2 Testing: Analyzing the cytokine profile and the balance of helper T-lymphocytes.
  • ANA-ENA Profile: Detecting autoantibodies that can create an inflammatory environment and impair fertility.

2. Endometrial Health (The Uterine Environment)

Tests designed to identify the optimal transfer window and eliminate "silent" inflammation.

  • ERA-EMMA-ALICE (Complete Package): A triple-test for determining the implantation window (ERA), analyzing the microbiome (EMMA), and detecting pathogenic bacteria (ALICE).
  • imMAP (Endometrial Microbiome): Advanced mapping of uterine flora to ensure the dominance of protective lactobacilli.
  • IHC - Chronic Endometritis (CD138): Immunohistochemistry to diagnose chronic endometrial inflammation, which is often asymptomatic but prevents implantation.

3. Advanced Male Factor (Genetic Integrity)

A standard semen analysis may not be enough for complex cases involving embryo development arrest.

  • Halosperm Test: Measuring sperm DNA fragmentation. High levels of DNA damage lead to arrested embryo development and lower pregnancy rates.
  • Y- Chromosome microdeletion testing: recommended for men with severe oligozoospermia or azoospermia to identify genetic causes of impaired sperm production and guide treatment decisions
  • Karyotype analysis: detects balanced chromosomal rearrangements that may contribute to recurrent pregnancy loss, repeated IVF failure, or severe male infertility
  • CFTR gene testing: indicated in men with congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens or obstructive azoosperia to identify cyctic fibrosis – related mutations

Why Gynatal is the "Scientific Gold Standard" in Advanced Diagnostics

Multidisciplinary Integration: Results are co-evaluated by gynecologists, hematologists (Dr. Florica Ghilezan), and geneticistsDr. Simona Farcas) to create a 360-degree treatment plan.
