In vitro fertilization and Embryo transfer

The beneficiaries of the IN VITRO FERTILIZATION AND EMBRYOTRANSFER subprogram  are infertile couples, defined as couples who have not had the ability to reproduce without using contraceptive means for 1 year of unprotected sexual activity or who have been diagnosed with a condition incompatible with natural reproduction, by a specialist in obstetrics-gynecology with competence in the treatment of couple infertility and medically assisted human reproduction.

In order to enroll in the IVF/ET sub-program, the applicant couple must submit a file containing the following documents to Gynatal headquarters:

1. Application for inclusion in the subprogram; 

2. Copies of the identity documents of the couple's members;

3. Certificates issued by the health insurance company proving the insured status in the social health insurance system of the couple's members, original documents, issued no more than 60 days before submitting the file or any other documents according to the law, proving the insured status (copy of the health card);  Address of the CJAS issuing the insured certificate

4. Medical certificate issued by the family doctor indicating the woman's height, weight and body mass index - document issued no more than 60 days before submitting the file;

5. Medical documents showing the minimum set of investigations performed to establish the diagnosis; List of IVF Gynatal investigations 2018 

6. A medical document showing the medical indication for the IVF/ET procedure, issued by a specialist in obstetrics-gynecology with competence in the treatment of couple infertility and medically assisted human reproduction, issued no more than 60 days before the submission of the file;

7. Affidavit stating that the applicants have submitted a single file at the headquarters of a single health unit that carries out the IVF/ET subprogram and that they have not previously benefited from another procedure financed from the budget of the Ministry of Health;  Affidavits

8. List of submitted documents;

I. The activities financed for each couple under the National IVF/ET Sub-program are:

  1. oocyte retrieval by follicular puncture, under local anesthesia or sedation
  2. sperm processing
  3. oocyte insemination for spontaneous fertilization (IVF)
  4. embryo cultivation 72 hours
  5. embryo transfer
  6. monitoring the evolution of the case, which consists of:

6.1. performing the serum ß HCG test 2 weeks after embryo transfer;

6.2. gynecological and ultrasound consultation, 6 weeks after carrying out the activity provided for in point 3, if the ß HCG test is negative;

6.3. ultrasound monitoring of the pregnancy 6 weeks after the activity provided for in point 3., if the ß HCG test is positive.

II. Couples with approved files will bear additional costs, which represent the equivalent of the activities listed below, activities that are not subsidized under the IVF/ET Subprogram by the Ministry of Health:

  1. establishing and monitoring the ovarian stimulation protocol, general anesthesia for oocyte collection by ovarian puncture, embryo culture for more than 72 hours to the blastocyst stage (extending embryo culture from 72 hours to the blastocyst stage is an implicit procedure in our clinic's work protocol, which is why it applies to all cases), (4,500 lei),
  2. PICSI (only if there is a medical indication), (1,500 lei),
  3. R ICSI (only if there is a medical indication), (1,100 lei),
  4. testicular puncture, (3,800 lei).

For 2022, within the framework of the National IVF/ET Program, Gynatal has approved a budget for the first quarter alone in the amount of 120 thousand lei.
