Oocyte Preservation (Egg Freezing)
Egg freezing is a critical intervention, as female fertility and egg quality decline significantly after the age of 35.
The Collection and Freezing Process
- Hormonal Stimulation: A personalized 10–12 day protocol to stimulate the growth of multiple follicles.
- Follicular Puncture: Egg retrieval is performed under sedation (anesthesia) and typically lasts 15–20 minutes.
- Vitrification: Mature oocytes are immediately vitrified and stored in liquid nitrogen.
Gynatal recommends retrieval before the age of 35, when oocyte quality is at its peak. Statistically, a 30-year-old may only need 6 frozen eggs for a high probability of future success, whereas a woman over 40 may require significantly more to account for natural chromosomal aging. Learn more
