What is PGT? 

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is the genetic analysis of embryos created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) before they are transferred to the uterus. 

PGT aims to: 

• Identify genetic abnormalities and inherites genetic disorders 

• Select embryos with the highest implantation potential; 

• Reduce the risk of miscarriage; 

• Increase the chances of a healthy pregnancy and live birth 

We recommend PGT in the following situations: 

• Recurrent  pregnancy loss (RPL) 

• Repeated IVF implantation failures (RIF) 

• Advanced maternal age; 

• Known genetic mutations in one or both partners. 

• Balanced chromosomal rearrangements 

• Severe male factor infertility with high sperm DNA fragmentation 

Types of PGT 

• PGT-A 
  Helps identify embryos with a higher potential for implantation and progression to a healthy pregnancy. 
• PGT-M 
  Helps identify embryos that are not affected by a known inherited genetic disorder present in the family. 
• PGT-SR 
  Helps identify embryos with balanced chromosomal structures from parents carrying balanced translocations or inversions 
• niPGT-A (Non-Invasive PGT-A) 
  Analyzes embryonic DNA obtained from the culture medium, allowing chromosomal screening without embryo biopsy in selected IVF cases
